Hello all – sorry about the lack of recent blog updates. Truth is that now that we have reached Greece, the pace has really dropped and we haven’t been doing very much! The weather is ace – high twenties so not too scorching – but still hot enough to make it an effort to do more than visit the nearest village.
We spent almost a whole week at a lovely site – Anemomilos – at Finikounda on the south west coast of the Peloponnese, meeting Peter and Lyn from Gosport and lots of other very friendly people from all over Europe – Norway, Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
The campsite was home to more than a few stray cats, many of whom seemed to be pregnant, and Dot was thrilled to see some new-born kittens, and later in the week, one actually being born on Peter & Lyn’s doorstep.
This kitten is just 2 minutes old!
Yet again, our new game of throwing sticks at other sticks (“Kubb”) has been a great way to meet our campsite neighbours, this time with Dot putting up posters advertising a Kubb tournament from 6-7pm, with a free bar (!) and a hospital (!!) (in case any of the old people injured themselves apparently…).
We are now in Epidavros, on the East Coast, and have been joined by Ali’s mum and stepdad. The site – Camping Bekas – is very nice but much quieter. On the plus side that means another prime beach-front site, after having to suffer the indignity of being four rows back at the last place…
